We Did It! Kolokids at the Pregnancy & Baby Fair What a Weekend

What. A. Weekend.

We are still buzzing from our time at the Pregnancy & Baby Fair at the RDS, Dublin 4 on March 28th & 29th and we just had to sit down and share how incredible it was.
For those who don't know, the Pregnancy & Baby Fair is Ireland's biggest event for expectant parents and families with young babies and this year it did not disappoint. The RDS was absolutely packed with excited parents, parents-to-be, and little ones in tow, and the atmosphere was just brilliant from start to finish.

Meeting You All In Person

Honestly, this was the highlight for us. We've built such a lovely community online, but there is something truly special about getting to meet our customers face to face. We had the most wonderful conversations with so many of you — new parents, expecting mums and dads, grandparents hunting for the perfect gift and it genuinely reminded us why we do what we do.

So many of you had already seen our playmats on Instagram or had been gifted one by a friend, and coming to feel the quality in person just sealed the deal. Watching little ones crawl and roll around on our mats at the stand was honestly the best kind of product demo we could ever ask for! 

The Egg Drop Test 

Now, this was the moment that stopped people in their tracks all weekend and we are SO glad we did it.

We challenged members of the public to drop a raw egg from head height directly onto our playmat. No tricks. No setup. Just a raw egg, dropped from standing height, onto the mat.

And the result? Not a single egg broke. Not one. All weekend.

The look on people's faces when they picked up that egg completely intact said it all. It was the most powerful demonstration of just how much cushioning and impact absorption our 1.3cm thick memory foam actually provides and honestly, no amount of words or product descriptions could have said it better than that egg did.

When you think about the fact that little ones are falling, toppling, and bumping their heads every single day as they learn to sit, crawl, and walk — that egg drop test puts it all into perspective. Our mats are not just pretty. They are genuinely, demonstrably protective.

It was one of those moments that drew a crowd, got people talking, and had parents immediately saying "right, I need one of these." We'll definitely be doing it again!

What Flew Off the Stand

We brought our full range along on the day but it was our two bestsellers the Herringbone and the Scandi that really stole the show. Once people got their hands on them and saw the quality up close, it was love at first touch. The soft, neutral tones and beautiful designs meant they didn't just tick the safety box they ticked the interior design box too, which is something we hear from our customers time and time again.
We also met so many potential stockists, fellow small business owners, and industry friends which made the weekend even more special.
